Abstract

This article deals with the study of the relationship of performance indicators

of technological transport with the mining conditions of deep quarries. The in

flounce of mining factors on the transportation of rock with the use of various

types of transport, as one of the main processes for the production of open cast

mining, is substantiated. The scopes of various types of transport are justified

depending on the open-pit mine productivity and transportation distance.

Key words: deep quarry, quarry transport, mountain mass, mining conditions,

vehicles, conveyor, transportation distance.

A feature of the development of open pit mining at great depths is the

complication of mining conditions of development. Mining conditions for the

development of mineral deposits in the coming years will be characterized by a

further increase in the depth of the quarry and transportation distances, an increase

in the share of hard rocks and ores in the total volume of rock mass, which will

lead to an increase in production costs and reduce its competitiveness.

The efficiency of the mining enterprises is determined by the direction of

development of mining in the career field. The process of mining and extraction of

enclosing and covering rocks is characterized by two main directions of

development of mining operations: in depth, characterized by the direction of the

dredging, and in the horizontal direction. To maintain the production capacity of

the quarry at the proper level, intensive development of work in both directions is

necessary.

In deep quarries, before the quarry transport, there are the tasks of

maintaining sufficiently high productivity and maintaining the pace of deepening

mining operations, reducing the length of transport communications, and ensuring

the necessary efficiency of development. As a rule, compliance with these

conditions is achieved only with the consistent use of several modes of transport in

a single transport network, i.e. combination of transport. With combined use, each

type of transport operates in the most convenient and favorable conditions for it. In

this regard, the choice of career transport, the evaluation of its main parameters and

technical and economic indicators are of particular importance.

The variability of the mining characteristics of rock deposits significantly

affects the efficiency of mining, significantly complicating the choice of

technological parameters of transport and other mining processes.

The marked negative trends associated with a decrease in mining operations

are also characteristic of Muruntau’s deep quarry, in which mining operations may

in the future descend to a depth of 850 m or more. To reduce the negative impact

of the depth of the pit on the efficiency of mining, theoretical studies of the

relationship between the performance of technological transport and the mining

conditions of deep open pit mines have been carried out, which allow evaluating

the effectiveness of various types of deep pit open pit transport.

As a rule, the development of a structurally complex field inevitably leads to

technological and technical difficulties associated with the organization of work,

the selection and management of technological process parameters, including no

less important when choosing a rational scheme of transportation of rock mass.

The intensive increase in the depth of open-cast mining required the study of

the influence of the mining conditions of quarries on the performance of

technological vehicles. The index of the depth of the quarries in this case is

decisive.

Earlier studies on the impact of mining and technical conditions of deep

quarries on the work of transport, an indicator of the below (equivalent)

transportation distance was taken, taking into account the labor costs of horizontal

movement and lifting of the rock mass from the quarry [1,2]. There are direct

dependences between the horizontal transportation distance, lifting height and

reduced transportation distance with a correlation coefficient, which allows to

establish their relationship with the mining conditions of quarries, which is a

reliable basis for planning and designing mining and transport operations on deep

horizons [2].

The deterioration of the performance of transport in deep quarries necessitates

finding ways to intensify it, replacing it with another type of transport or using

several types of transport, each of which is assigned a certain spatial area of the

quarry. In these cases, several modes of transport can be used in parallel or in

combination. In the practice of open work in deep foreign quarries and domestic

quarries [3-7] the most common combination of road with rail, as well as conveyor

transport.

The introduction of combined transport reduces fuel costs, reduces personnel,

increases productivity in some cases, improves working conditions for people in

the quarry and protects the environment while maintaining the flexibility of the

system based on the use of dump trucks. With combined use, each type of transport

operates in the most convenient and favorable conditions for it.

The fullest use of all the advantages of the combined transport can be

achieved with proper justification of the scope of its application and ensuring

rational conditions for vehicles, depending on the number, location in the quarry

space and the transfer step of the transfer points.

In justifying the use of various modes of transport, the predominant goal is to

reduce transportation costs in the quarry. In this case, other technical and

technological parameters should also be taken into account. Research has

established that a rational sphere of one or another type of transport may be limited

depending on two main factors: the productivity of the excavation and loading

complex and the distance of transportation.

It has been established that with limited productivity, it is rational to use

motor transport even over long distances; with a fairly high pit career, conveyor

transport turns out to be profitable even at short transport distances [8].

Capital expenditures for automobile conveyor transport are higher than for

motor transport, but slightly lower than motor transport by rail, and compared with

the latter are repaid in a shorter period.

The Muruntau deposit is characterized by high variability of gold content in

the ore, and the complex structure of the ore bodies. The ore is delivered to the

transshipment points of the open pit by road. The concept of the development of

the Muruntau open-pit mine envisages the transfer of the ore flow to the motor- conveyor transport. Therefore, the methods and means of controlling the quality of

the ore flow in the process of developing the Muruntau open-pit mine in stage V

undergo significant changes. At the same time, efforts are directed mainly at

solving the problem of the formation of the ore flow of the required quality inside

the open-pit mine during the cyclical flow technology of work.
