Abstract

Passenger transportation is an important part of the sociological problems of society. Since Independence, passenger road transport in India has been growing fast and has acquired considerable importance as a discrete economic activity with a huge growth potential. The 'Road Transport Corporation Act' passed in 1950 enabled State Governments to form corporations for running passenger transport services. The transport sector is one of the core sectors of the economy, since it supports the infrastructure needs of all development. Passenger transport services are basis of all commercial activities.
