Abstract

The POCSO Act is an important step taken by the legislative body in securing the best interest of the child, as sexual crimes have increased so much, that not only adults, but also children, even of tender age are becoming the victims of several types of sexual exploitation. The Constitution of India under Article 15(3) empower the government to make special legislations  for women and children, to save the child from the Pornography, Prostitution, or engaging in unlawful sexual activity and to ensure health physical, emotional, intellectual and social development of child is also a motive of this Act.
