Abstract

Women education is an essential element for the development and prosperity of any nation. From last two decades India has been through many reformative changes in terms of education and gender equality, but still the fact remain that our country is the home of largest number of illiterate population in the world. One third of the country’s population is functionally illiterate and for female, 50% of them cannot read and write. Rural India is high on the index of illiteracy.
