Abstract
This study discusses natural resources and violent conflict in Anambra Oi-Bearing Basin of Nigeria. The paper adopts qualitative research methodology with historical/descriptive research design. The sources and method of data collection are secondary. The paper argues that unless lessons learned in the Niger Delta are applied in the Anambra Basin, there will be a repeat of the tragedy of the Niger Delta where resource conflict has led to security challenges and further underdevelopment of the region. The finding indicates that there a direct link between oil activities and the violent conflict in the Basin since 2012.
