Abstract

There are 101 private Universities operating in Bangladesh (UGC 2018). Among these 4 Universities and 1 institute is operating in Sylhet division. These private Universities suffer from fund crisis because tuition fees collected from the students are not sufficient to meet up the operational costs. Govt. has little or no contribution in the private universities (survey data 2018). Private universities are not any kind of business concern. Members of the Board of Trustees don’t get any return from the contribution that they make. It is impossible for the University to purchase one acre land or to build four to six storied buildings in the city area by the contribution of members of Board of Trustees. Thus most of the Universities start and continue their operations in rented buildings. This research is aimed to find out the loopholes in the educational service quality of private Universities of Sylhet in Bangladesh and to find out the prospect and problems of implementing EQ SERV model to develop the educational service quality.
