Abstract


The performance of cooperative banks in term of profitability and productivity has been the main concern of all the stakeholders involved in this entrepreneurship. It is a globally well recognized fact that the growth of any financial institution like banks depends upon their productivity and profitability which are directly interrelated to each other. The productivity of cooperative banks poses a serious concern particularly in case of District Central Cooperative Banks (DCCBs), considered to be the heart of the whole cooperative banking system in India. Therefore, to assess and calculate the productivity of DCCBs of Haryana, the strategy adopted was to study the problem along the following parameters and dimensions. Tables 1.1 to1.5 illustrate their strengths and weakness as well as their challenges and opportunities to grow to build an inclusive economy.
