ABSTRACT

As per the survey, employees in India have almost the longest work weeks across the

world. Even though technology makes people more accessible and makes work easier, the stress

the employees feel after the work makes the door shut to them for their personal life. The women

employees suffer the most and the senior or top most employees deal with the problems which

relate to their work and forget their personal family life. Organizations can only facilitate, but the

initiative should be taken by the employee. The main fact is that employees who work in huge

buildings of Indian firms take home huge pay every month. However, when we take a closer

look, we see another reality which is not so bright. They need money to live but people forget the

family when they involve themselves in their work life. Contract workers who in need to travel

to various places ,lose their commitment with the family life .Women employees who work in

field of management face several problems in their work life and loses to show their own kind of

caring to their beloved ones. The interest of the family members in their own work affects the

love the children are in need. The physical and mental fatigue at work makes difficult the

responsibilities at home.

INTRODUCTION

We all have our own priorities in life

as well as in our work .In both places there

are enjoyment and achievement. Work and

life are dependent factors which involve

various factors into consideration. The work

is been explained as career and ambition and

life is been explained as health, pleasure,

leisure and family. The balancing of the

work and life is a critical thing at many

cases. Balancing our own needs with the

needs of the working environment or

organization is been stated as the work life

balancing. The division of one's time and

focus between working and family or leisure

activities. A comfortable state of equilibrium

achieved between an employee's primary

priorities of their employment position and

their private lifestyle. If work life balance is

been achieved, it is beneficiary for both the

organization and one’s own life. If the WLB

of employee is been achieved it creates

increase in productivity and motivates

employee to give better performance ,on the

other hand an individual gets sense of

control over his family and leisure , stress

free mentality, reduced anxiety over people

in the society and his own life. To achieve

this state of comfort ability steps have to be

taken on both sides. Nowadays many

organizations take steps to help employees’

comfort ability. Organizations provide

family friendly working environment by

understanding the employees family needs

.Steps are been taken by the individual and

by the company. Factors like time,

satisfaction, and value are been taken into

consideration .Time and money are been the

considerable factors. Steps are been taken by

the side of organization like child health

care and health care policies, many

companies provide policies regarding the

practices of work life balance of employees.
