Introduction:
Sport is used as a tool to reach personal
and community goals. Most organizations
utilizing this method are geared towards
underprivileged children and teenagers
in urban areas. Far-reaching and ever- present, sport is a common denominator for
people across the globe. Since the advent of
modern Olympics in 1896, athletes have
shown that sports enable people to come
together in an effort to bring about global
peace and to share a desire for self- improvement. Non-profit sports programs
aiming to educate through similar means are
part of an up and coming movement,
however. Through sport, children learn
sportsmanship and other life skills. Youth
sport can help them grow towards positive
development and good relationships with
others. Sport is a tool utilized to get young
people involved in their communities.
Positive peer relationships are also
encouraged through coaching as well as the
physical activity; this leads to youth feeling
integrated with other young people. Through
being involved in sports youth can gain self- esteem when they are enjoying the
experience of taking part in a sport. Sports
help them gain lifelong skills and want to do
better in the classroom as well. Involvement
in sports have been related to one having
better cognitive functioning as well as
higher grades and test scores, satisfaction in
school, engagement in school, aspirations
for college, and lower dropout rates. Also,
according to the Official Website of the
Olympic Movement, being surrounded by a
supportive group of people with similar
goals, as in playing a sport, “can alleviate
the negative effects of poverty.” Non-profit
organizations are founded in urban areas
affected by poverty to help marginalized
children by creating an environment to unite

people across gender, race, religion, or
socioeconomic background. People from
diverse cultures appreciate excellence and
desire to achieve it or at least share in it.
Champions, by representing communities or
nations, make people vicariously fulfilled
human beings. They are framed as a modern
hero because sport has become a forum in
which communal self-revelation occurs.
That is, modern sport is viewed by some
sociologists as a form of surrogate religion
and popular theater in which occurs the
communal discovery of who people think
they are. Sport stadiums are contemporary
venues in which champions are observed by
spectators or watched by viewers: People
thus experience sacred moments of exciting
significance while seemingly leaving behind
the profaneness of ordinary life. In this
sense, society needs its champions as heroes.
They perform the manifest function of
achieving sporting success for themselves
and their local community and nation. But
they also perform a more latent role: They
are meant to embody the elements that a
society values most. As idealized creations,
they provide inspiration, motivation,
direction, and meaning for people‟s lives.
Champions as heroes act to unify a society,
bringing people together with a common
sense of purpose and values. That is how
modern sport developed. Pioneers in the
19th century linked sport to Western
muscular Christianity in terms of
unselfishness, self-restraint, fairness,
gentlemanliness, and moral excellence. This
in itself supplemented traditional notions of
chivalry such as honor, decency, courage,
and loyalty. These qualities are some of the
very attributes associated with what people
describe as “true” champions. Yet, reality
also intrudes into this setting.
Objective of the study:
Present study have been some following
objectives which are given below
To know the main effect of sports in
societal development of the nation
To evaluate the how much, sports are
essential for society.
To trace out the sports play a major
role for a nation for their
development.
Data Collection of Methodology:
Present study was base on primary
data which is collect with the help of 200
questionnaire fill up by student researcher
and common people. The collected data has
been presented by the suitable tables and
diagrams. Also used chi square test, which
show the significance of sports science in
development of nation from different
person.
Methodology:
Data Analysis: In order to summarize the
results, the observed data has been analyzed
for drawing the inferences from various
observations, taken in the field. Data
analyses indicate the „cause-effect
relationship‟ among various qualitative and
quantitative parameters, taken for the study.
Testing of Hypothesis: In order to testing
the hypothesis a„t-test‟ technique has been
employed for drawing the desired
inferences.

For t-test
t x - x 2 n1 + n2
S n1 + n2
Here„t‟ is based on (n - 2) degree of
freedom. If the calculated value of „t‟ exceed
0.05 for d.f. we say that the value „r‟ is
significant at 5 per cent levels.
