Abstract
TheĀ objective of the present study is to analyze the cotton and sugar competitiveness of Indian agriculture under WTO regime. As far as competitiveness of Indian agricultural commodities is concerned, it is found that cotton had been having considerable competitiveness in the international market. But in case of sugar, it is found that India had been never competitive in international market. To sum up, it is concluded that Indian agriculture is getting competitive advantage in international trade in case of cotton but not in sugar. Higher domestic prices in comparison to international prices of products of bulk exports commercially less comparative. Thus, it is suggested that market intelligence and creating awareness in international market about quality of products need to be strengthened to boost agricultural exports.
