Abstract

Competing risk failure model is used when failure of individuals or items  may be due to more than one cause or factor. For such causes competing risk failure model is used instead of simple failure model. In this paper power function distribution is used as a life time model for competing risk failure analysis. The causes of failure are assumed independent.  Under type-I interval censoring scheme the competing risk failure model is used for inference. The point estimation and interval estimation are done based on maximum likelihood as well as Bootstrap method. The estimation is carried out for the parameters and survival function of the competing risk failure method. Non parametric estimation of method  is also used for estimation of survival function. A simulation study is done to study the behaviour of the estimator.
