Abstract
Mangifera indica immature endosperm (MIIES) is traditionally used for the treatment of gastrointestinal infections. Few studies are available in matured seed kernel biopotential activities, whereas no such studies in immature endosperm, hence in this study antiulcer activity was screened by making use of standard methods. Ethanolic and phenolic extracts were subjected for antiulcer screening. Results revealed that both the extracts produced good antiulcer activity which was evidenced in ulcer score, ulcer index. Extracts also proved antioxidant ability. Among the extracts phenolic extracts proved to be an effective antiulcer agent which may be due to flavonoids.
