Abstract

Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni is one of the most representative voices on women issues. Her novel exhibits the intersection of female subjectivity and their identities in the society. As a diasporic writer she also locates her concentration on the lives of immigrant’s women. Her major work that concerns with the women empowerment and struggles for their aim are The Mistress of Spices, Queen of Dreams, Arranged Marriage, Sister of My Heart and The Vine of Desire.
