Abstract

Environment protection is the key issue with the consumers, manufacturers, policy makers because the development activities such as construction, transportation and manufacturing does not only lead to depletion of the resources but also leads to water, air and noise pollution. Companies are trying to make the consumes aware about the environment issues by designing and manufacturing green products. Green products or ecofriendly products are becoming popular now a days. Although consumes are becoming concerned about the of environment deterioration and are willing to pay more to buy green products but the empirical studies showed that environment conscious consumers rarely translate their green concern and attention in green buying behavior. This paper attempts to find the reasons or barriers that impede the green consumers to translate their green intension to green buying decision. Primary and secondary data have been used to analysis the consumer behavior for not translating their environment consciousness in to buying behavior.
