Abstract
Education is for removing ignorance in the human mind, leading a person from darkness to light and making him realize that he/she is a soul of infinite purity and tremendous power. Educate, encourage and enlighten is the theme for National Education Policy 2019.India’s First Leadership Talk Series, Smart India Hackathon, Startup Policy for Students and Faculty are some of the innovative initiates taken up by the Ministry of HRD. This paper highlights the innovative oriented initiatives taken up by the Government of India on higher education, their impact on Indian economy and also gives suggestions on improving the education initiatives in India.
