Abstract
Ancient Indian culture and civilization was based on values. In old Indian scriptures we find domination of values in every sphere of human life. Kaṭhopaniṣd inculcates all kinds of human values like satya, tapas, dāna, tenderness towards all creatures, patience, humanity, purity, contentment, decency, gentleness of speech, friendliness and freedom from envy etc. The Upaniṣads inspire the feeling of love for God. It provides purity in mind, which is also known as devotion. The love for God always inspires one to do something good for the society.
