Abstract
An attempt has been made by the researcher to study and understand the important facets of corporate governance and corporate social responsibility in a comprehensive way and to achieve new insights into it. In doing so the researcher has undertaken this particular topic as it has very much relevance in today’s context. Emphasis is given on how CSR has become the linchpin for the development of any corporate organizations in the current era. The project will try to bring out in detail how corporate governance and CSR are related and hence why there is a need for Voluntary CSR in India. Also, the researcher will analyse to ascertain whether or not mandating CSR would help in the growth of the Indian Corporate Sector or will it be more beneficial for the Indian economy to have Voluntary CSR. The study will focus on the salient features of CSR
Provisions in the new Bill and will also discuss the need for CSR in today’s globalized world.
