Abstract
The present study is an attempt of analysing the degree of the commitment of the Indian State in the implementation of child rights. The study corroborates that undoubtedly, Indian state has historically always preferred the child rights over all other social sections while framing its social welfare policies. Indian state adopts a comprehensive and multi-dimensional approach which delivering with regard to child rights. While examining the nature and various patterns of policies and programs designed for the purpose, it explicates that Indian State does concentrate on physical, social and psychological development of children. However, to achieve the international standards of child rights, India yet needs to give more priority to child rights while framing its public policy.
