Abstract
Barrenness has serious social, demographic and medical consequences. With the increasing interest of women for higher education, infertility rate rises due to higher age at the time of marriage. Also, infertility rate is more among women living in urban life style. If the couples have some major health related issues other than infertility and unable to conceive pregnancy, traditional or gestational surrogacy is done. But, surrogacy is always believed to be a controversial topic because many communal, ethical and legal factors arise while planning about it.
