Abstract
Empowerment of women to be one of the most significant aspects of a nation's journey towards progress. As a nation, Saudi Arabia has embarked on a number of reforms that equate men and women in society. The purpose of this article is to provide a general study on the condition of women living in Saudi society. The study also aims to explore the reforms and changes at the administrative level and women's rights in Saudi Arabia since 90s and the role of international effort and women rights movement in bringing these changes into reality in a deeply conservative society, dominated by the male guardianship system. While Mentioning basic rights of women, It also examines the treaties, laws and other initiatives adopted internationally for the protection and empowerment of women.
