Abstract

             Mobile agent technology represents a distributed computing paradigm that has been proposed as a means for increasing the efficiency of data aggregation tasks and addressing the scalability problem of centralized methods. A Course timetabling problem consists of scheduling a sequence of lectures between teachers and students in a prefixed period-of-time, satisfying a set of constraints of various types. Polytechnic Course Timetabling Problem is a hybrid optimization problem in the class of Non-Probabilistic hard problems. The aim of this research is to design a mobile agent system that generates a Course timetable for the Polytechnic system. Java programming language in conjunction with the MySQL database was used to develop the resulting system. The resulting system of the design is a Polytechnic course timetable system that abides by all the constraints of a standard Course Timetable.
