Abstract

We are no longer living in a “fast-changing world,” but we are living in the VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex and Ambiguous) environment. Tourism as a historically recognized volatile industry has many issues to address if it is to move towards a more sustainable future. Tourism is a seasonal activity hence conducting it throughout the year as a business activity is a challenge in India. Also, there is a lot of competition in the sector.In India there is a legacy of Ayurvedic medicines found in the entire length and breadth of the country and several Indian states have a potential to provide Ayurveda tourism services. Ayurveda treatment in India is emerging as the holistic solution for the fitness and wellbeing of mind and body thereby attracting several tourists to India.The medical tourism in India is expected to touch US$9Billion by 2020. According to majority of the respondents and as per several studies, the Ayurveda tourism will help to revitalize the tourism sector by making a significant contribution to the VUCA tourism business in India thorough its new age treatment.
