Abstract
Forensic accounting is an emerging concept in the accounting era. This has gained importance due to increase in financial scams. Forensic accounting used accounting knowledge to prepare accounts and used investigative skills to verify the statements. As this is a new trend in the accounting world, not much people are aware about its scope and need. This paper, analyses the need for using forensic accounting and also analyses the extent of awareness of forensic accounting. For this purpose, primary source of data is used and secondary data adds value to the findings.
