Abstract
An argument to promote prison reforms is a human rights argument, on which the variance of United Nation’s standards has put forth for the society to be developed but the juxtapose is that these are considered to be insufficient to encourage prison reform programmes in countries with scarce human and financial resources. The torment of this is not only limited to the prisoner but also equally to the families and community at large in the perspective of social, economic and emotional. Thus there is a dire need to consider the prison reformation across the globe. .
Generally the sentence to a prisoner is a deprivation of his liberty and restriction on freedom of movement in a sense, whereas it does not restricts the basic tenants of the human rights except as per the procedure established by law. The prison reformation is essential for blossoming of the insertion of respect towards the UN principles and for the compliance, respect and protection of the human of the prisoners. This paper will try to showcase the basic elements of the prison reform, its needs and the present situation and will try to hammer on the existing lacunas related to prison reformation and will suggest the necessary changes for the present system.
