Abstract
Smart phones changed the digital era by making humans so quick to access and share pieces of information by using just a palm-size device. Smart phones of today are so ’smart’ that it can sense its nearby environment by using micro sensors embedded in it. Also, the various human activities can be monitored through smart phones by interfacing with some hardware planted on the human body like in fitness bands. In this paper a novel approach based on deep learning for monitoring the human activity is presented and tested using the required hardware and software. In this work we are using the accelerometer and gyroscope by which smart phone knows its current orientation. Moreover, a function that can transform sensor input to activity output is presented that is used to recognize activity being performed.
