Abstract
Spotting of clones in a software is a critical issue and activity in the enterprises. Present writing on the subject of code clones is classified comprehensively into numerous ways. Utilization of already available code either by copying and paste strategies or by performing minor changes within the current code is considered as code clone spotting. Programming clones might give rise to virus and real support problems and lower down the quality of the software. Clone sorts/types, techniques of clones and different procedures are represented in this paper. Further more this paper can work as a guide to a potential user working on to find duplicate code identification methods and assist them in choosing the correct tactics for his or her interests.
