Abstract

Natural fibre used as reinforcement agents for manufacturing composites due to their costless ad environmental advantage. In this review, the water absorption and thermal properties are discussed. Water absorption properties such as diffusivity, sorption and permeability are detailed.  Thermal properties like thermal diffusivity, specific heat and thermal conductivity values are required for manufacturing composite material. These properties vary with fibre content. Electro kinetic, wetting and moisture properties of different natural fibre are characterized. Theoretical thermal conductivity characteristics are discussed. A comprehensive literature review has been carried out in the area water absorption and thermal properties of natural fiber.
