Abstract
Food is considered as a fuel for life as it provides all essential nutrients required for maintenance of health. Now day’s public concerns regarding nutrients and safe food are increasing. As a result people have started giving more preference to eco-friendly products and practices. The severe chemical use in farming post Green Revolution success is causing huge pollution in our food products, drinking water, air etc.
In this new period of globalization and technological growth, the major issue in every developing state like India is about, to provide safe and healthy food to its subjects. Food safety prescribes reliability that food items are acceptable for human consumption according to its deliberate use. The term pesticide covers, “a wide scope of mixes including bug sprays, fungicides, herbicides, rodenticides, plant development controller and others”. The creation of these agricultural chemicals began in India in 1952 with the foundation of a plant for the generation of BHC close Calcutta, and our nation is currently the second biggest maker of agro-chemicals in Asia continental after China.
