Abstract

This study attempted to seek the possibility of a Paperless Assignment Assessment System (PAAS) in Higher Education in India. The purpose of this study is to explore the effects of using Google Classroom to submit assignments in order to preserve natural resources to achieve Climate Action, one of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This paper explores how Google Classroom saves Environment by eradicating the air and water pollution, how fossil fuel power used for printing, and the chemicals involved is greatly affected the marine environment and to reduce waste usage of natural resources.Paper- based processess increase every corporation’s carbon footprint and can also result in a lot of energy consumption when printers, faxes and photocopies are widely in use.Data are gathered from 25 arts and science college lecturers from different streams who are from five different districts five lecturers from each districts such as Virudhunagar, Thirunelvelli, Madurai, Coimbatore and Chennai via a set of questionnaires.A pilot study was also been conducted on 25 respondents in order to know the reliability of the instruments in this research. A quantitative data were collected and the result accumulates the total size of the sample together with the percentages of returns. The data is summarized to identify the usefulness of the learning tool to the students. The findings of the study suggested that the use of Google Classroom is significant to save the globe from Green house effect. This study implies that the usage of Google Classroom should be encouraged to the students and institutions should provide internet facilities as a top priority in today’s education.
