Abstract

India lives in Agriculture. Agriculture was the key implement in the rise of sedentary human civilization, whereby farming of domesticated species created food surpluses that nurtured the development of civilization. Pudukkottai economy is predominantly agrarian with about 75 percent of work force depending on agriculture, paddy is the principle crop which amounts for major portion of cropped area and the other corps is sugarcane, banana, pulses and oil seeds. Hence, an attempt has been made by the researcher to have a scientific insight into the cultivation and growth of groundnut and to explain to the farmers of the issues pertaining to its production and thus improve the groundnut farming effectively.
