Abstract

Haryana is leading state in production of food grains in India. Haryana hosts only 2% of India′s population and 1.37% geographical area but Haryana is second largest contributor in national central pool of food grains. Fine grains like wheat and rice are dominant food grain crops of Haryana and coarse grains like bajra,maize,jowar etc. are grown only some small parts of Haryana. From 1990-91 to 2015-16 it seems that area under fine grains is increased and coarse grains and pulses is decreased rapidly.
