Abstract


The study is an attempt to analyze the socio-economic condition of women agricultural workers in Karnal. Status of women has been an important area of economic studies. The growth of the nation is depends on the status and development of women, as they not only constitute nearly half of its population, but also affect the growth of remaining half. This study also explains the problems faced by women agricultural laborers at work place. This study is based on primary data. Data is collected through filed survey in district Karnal, Haryana. Socio-economic background involved educational profile, age, marital status, family income etc. of respondents. Findings of study reveal that most of women agricultural workers belongs to age group 35-45 and most of them are illiterate and from middle class family. Women agricultural workers faces lots of problem like extreme temperature, low wage rate, heavy physical works etc. According to my opinion government should take appropriate action to solve their problems. Government should not only launch the schemes but also regulate them properly and spread awareness among women workers.
