Abstract
The aim of the present paper is to perform a review of recent advances made in the risk field, having a special focus on the fundamental ideas and thinking that form the generic risk research. The scope of such a review is broad, and it has been a challenge to select works for this review from among the many seminal contributions made over the past 10–15 years.
