Abstract


The present study aims at enhancing the performance of a novel solar collector heating system and its usage. A Dual Function Solar Heating System (DFSHS) which can heat water or air in a combined fashion was designed and fabricated. Experiments were conducted to highlight the DFSHS performance, usingthermosyphon effect with a collector tilt angle of 25o. The DFSHS consists of a solar water heater, a solar air heater and a heat exchanger connected in series. The performance of the DFSHS was calculated for fluid (water) flow rates for theabsorber fluids: Water
