Abstract
In the twentieth and twenty-first centuries the female psyche has to be valued in a different manner as compared to the middle ages. There is a lot of difference between the status of women then and now. Though it is evitable that the change does not have an hundred percent turnover, the gradual process is the best step. To delve in this topic further, Jaishree Misra’s novel Afterwards plays a key role. Jaishree Misra is an eminent Indian writer in the twenty-first century fiction.
