Abstract


Patients with ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke are at high risk of systemic complications. The causes leading to gastrointestinal bleeding in stroke are unknown, and gastroduodenal ulcers caused nonspecific response to any "aggression", including the nervous system lesions, are so-called stress ulcers [15]. However, only in one of several studies that describe post stroke complications commented gastrointestinal bleeding, and in others they are not described as stroke complications [4].
