Abstract

Universal essentialist concept of religion makes it really impossible to speak across religious practices as diverse as those throughout the world today. The present world is defined by the term ‘Eurocentric’ in terms of history, politics, economics, culture and religion. Whether the postmodern novelists, here female Nigerian novelists, are sufficiently acknowledgeable with Christianity in Africa and its ostensible impact on African Igbo culture, the present research paper would attempt to investigate into the question of Eurocentrism to ferret out some unrelenting descriptions of the obtrusive and disruptive impression of Christian beliefs and practices in Igbo ethnic group in Nigeria.
