Abstract
One of the major issues facing our country ever since its independence in 1947 is how to develop the socio–economic backward classes especially the Tribals and bring them at par with the other classes. The efforts made by different governments from time to time towards this issue has proved unsatisfactory, as no major development in the condition of the Tribals has taken place. This paper aims to analyse the major issues and challenges that became hindrances in the development of Sahariya tribe, which occupies a prominent place in the tribal population of Madhya Pradesh.
