Abstract

Man is a social by nature and being a member of the society, he enjoys some rights. These rights are called human rights. Every person is entitled to human rights by virtue of member of the society. These rights are necessary so that people may live with dignity. In general, human rights are such moral rights which are accepted universally. These rights cannot be taken away from any person except by law. These rights are granted by the law and human being i.e. people enjoy these rights as a matter of right and not as a gift by the state. State is bound to provide and protect the rights. In the Constitution of India human rights are granted under part III [1] of the Constitution. These rights include Right to life and personal liberty[2], Right to equality[3], Right against Discrimination[4], Freedoms[5], Right against exploitation[6] etc.
