Abstract

Women’s political participation has been recognized internationally as an important tool to check the status of women in the society. Hence, women’s participation in politics and decision-making has received significant attention across the world. The women are underrepresented in decision-making positions world-wide. Half of the population lack access at all levels of government to their counter parts. When it comes to India and specially Rajasthan, the situation become worsens. Only 28 women MP are elected in the Lok Sabha from Rajasthan since independence. Equal participation of women in decision-making and politics is prerequisite to achieve social justice.
