Abstract
Operating system is a type of system software which acts as an intermediate between hardware parts of computer and application software installed in a computer. Some of the examples of operating system are: UNIX, Window, DOS etc. UNIX was developed in the year 1969 at Bell laboratories by the employees of AT&T.
