Abstract
Most of the earthquakes are occurred in the zones which are much nearer to the boundaries of tectonic plates on the lithosphere layer of the earth. Major disasters are also found in seismic regions as well. Due to the occurrence of an earthquake, the major damage is done because of elastic vibration whereas the role of fault displacement is very low. It is also observed that the level of elastic vibration depends on various factors like local condition of soil, size and distance of the earthquake etc.
