Abstract
The workplace we encounter today reflects an almost prismatic medley of individuals in terms of gender, ethnicity, religious beliefs, physical abilities, age, socio-economic status and sexual orientation. The present study investigated if the gender of the subordinates impacts the supervisor’s evaluation of their leadership effectiveness. A sample of 82 subordinates (45 males and 37 females) working in managerial capacity and their 32 supervisors (22 males and 10 females) participated in the study. The supervisors rated their subordinates on their effectiveness as a leader at the workplace using Leadership Effectiveness Scale by Ng et al. (2008).
